The road here was quite long and winding, and that is part of why I am glad I can share with you my world here — who I am and what I have been through.

I came to painting by a great detour. In my youth I trained at a secondary technical school of clothing design, which I later put to use as a fashion designer. I enjoyed batik, painting and printing on textiles, making jewellery and the like. In the other occupations I moved through over the years, I often drew on and exercised my feeling for colour and aesthetics. But it was only much, much later that I came to painting and to watercolour, which enchanted me at once, and I began to work in earnest. I also became a pupil of the academic painter and graphic artist Vratislav Jan Žižka, who lectured on idealist aesthetics at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. Yet in my case these clearly artistic influences are mixed with two further strong sources of inspiration:

Travel always drew me, and I never missed a chance to see somewhere new. I travelled all across Europe, and I have been to Thailand, India, the Egyptian Sinai, Canada and Mexico. I was drawn to travel as a way of exploring the outer world, but I was just as interested in my inner universe — and there my vehicle became meditation and the study of philosophy. All these expeditions into the outer and inner worlds of the Unknown had an enormous influence on me and on how I perceive the world and how I paint.

I have taken part in countless exhibitions and gatherings of artists, I sell many paintings, and my works are held in private collections in Canada, Poland, Switzerland, South Africa and elsewhere in the world. My paintings need few words added to them, and with this text I only wanted to make sure you know at least a little about who stands before you.
